Club Activities, 2024
Once upon a Time
“A book is a gift you can open again and again.” Reading is often an independent practice but book clubs offer a chance to share the experience and learn something new along the way. A book club is like a group therapy revolving around stories. The objective of our book club is to increase reading engagement, promote interpersonal communication, dialogic learning and community building. The first session of the book club started with the discussion about the members’ interest in reading variety of books and the importance of reading. The members were creative and involved enthusiastically in illustrating the ‘set up’ that they would like to read in. Each member shared their interests and thoughts about reading books and were eager to participate in the upcoming sessions.
Heritage Club organized a Street Play workshop on July 19, 2024, at Montessori Hall, led by Dr. V.V. Meenakshi Jayakumar (M.Com., M.A. Music., M.A. Women Studies, M.A. Bharatanatyam, M.Sc. Guidenship, SET., NET., M.Phil., Ph.D.) to educate students about street theatre.
The workshop inspired students to explore street play and motivated them to apply what they learned. Heritage Club members are eager to incorporate their new knowledge into future performances.
The session enhanced students’ understanding of street theatre and led to plans for a street play on natural conservation, aligning with World Natural Conservation Day, to raise environmental awareness.
Crocodile Park
On July 20th, our students from grades VII to XI embarked on an enlightening journey to the Crocodile Bank. The workshop focused on understanding the crucial role of reptiles in our ecosystem. Expert guidance from Ms. Dimple shed light on the fascinating world of crocodiles, including their behavior and dietary habits.
Beyond crocodiles, students learned to identify different snake species and received essential training on first aid for snake bites. This knowledge empowers them to be responsible stewards of the environment and equipped to handle potential emergencies.
