Independence Day Programme 2022

The 75th year of Independence was celebrated on 12th August 2022 with great joy and pomp. A sense of pride and happiness could be seen on the faces of all the students ahead of the 75th Independence day falling on 15th August 2022. The day started with the prayer in the morning and then the National Flag was hoisted. The air reverberated with the flag song sung by Grade V students.

Later in the day a cultural program was held. The freedom spirit was expressed through the rendition of flag songs in three different languages- Desham Manadhe in Telugu, Bharathiyar’s Thaayin Manikodi Paareer in Tamil and Janda Uncha Rahe Hamara in Hindi. Students of Grade III and IV donned themselves as some important freedom fighters and enthralled the audience with their zestful and dynamic words. The students of Grades IX and X presented a colourful and vibrant ‘Pinnal Kollatam’ depicting the popular quote ‘Unity is strength’.

To showcase the freedom struggle by our revolutionary heroes, students of Grades V to VIII performed a skit on the life of Shenbagaraman Pillai, who was instrumental in coining the salutation, ‘Jai Hind’. The cultural events came to an end with a soulful musical presentation by the students of Grade XI.
